NAIFA-Ohio honored three chapter members with awards at their 2022 Success Summit. Matthew Meeker, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, and James Fuller, LUTCF, received the NAIFA-OH Political Involvement Award and Daniel Brookman, LUTCF, was named the 2021 NAIFA-OH Young Advisor of the Year.

“We are pleased to recognize Matthew Meeker, James Fuller, and Daniel Brookman,” said NAIFA-OH President Tracy Cartwright. “Their talent, energy, and dedication provide a shining example of how insurance and financial professionals make a meaningful difference in NAIFA, in their communities, and in the lives of their clients. Matthew, Daniel, and outstanding NAIFA members like them are the reason NAIFA will continue to be the largest, most influential, and most successful membership association for financial professionals in the United States.” 

Political Involvement Award

The NAIFA-OH Political Involvement Award recognizes NAIFA-OH members who have shown exemplary service to their profession, colleagues, and clients through their political advocacy and contributions to the Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC).

Matthew Meeker, of Whitehouse, OH, is the founder of Matthew Meeker Financial and has been a proud member of NAIFA-OH since 1980. He is an insurance broker specializing in retirement, estate, and succession planning as well as employee benefits and retention. He has a bachelor's degree in Organizational Administration and Marketing Management from the University of Toledo. He is a Past President and IFAPAC Chairman of NAIFA-Toledo and served as a Board Member of NAIFA-Toledo for over 30 years. He has also been honored with NAIFA's Quality Award and is a Business Council Member at his local chamber of commerce. 

Before retiring, James Fuller was Vice President of Individual Sales and Service at Snider, Fuller, and Stroh in Athens, OH. A NAIFA-OH member for 39 years, he is a Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and served as IFAPAC Chair for NAIFA-OH.

Young Advisor of the Year Award

The Young Advisor of the Year Award recognizes an advisor’s commitment to NAIFA, including service on local, state, and national committees and participation in NAIFA's Leadership in Life Institute (LILI); involvement with state or federal legislative efforts; participation in external service work such as charities; and an ability to inspire others. 

Daniel Brookman, of Westerville, OH, is an Insurance Agent at Stolly Insurance Group and has been a proud NAIFA-OH member since 2015. He is an insurance agent specializing in life, annuities, long-term care, and disability insurance. He has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Franklin University. He joined Stolly Insurance in October 2016 after having spent the majority of his insurance career with New York Life. He is the President of NAIFA-Columbus and the Chair of his local chamber of commerce’s Young Professionals Board.

Honoring Past President Duane Borcherding

NAIFA-OH also recognized loyal NAIFA member and NAIFA-OH Past President Duane A. Borcherding, CLU, ChFC, for his commitment and service to the chapter.
